Happy March everyone! Not only does this month have a special place in my heart (#birthdaymonth), this time of year holds a certain “out with the old, in with the new” feel to it which I really enjoy. While it’s not always completely glamorous as we dive into our spring cleaning (already completed- hooray!) and prepare our taxes (totally procrastinating on this one) there’s generally a lightness to March. Almost like the start to what January could be, if it wasn’t so chilly during that month. As we begin the spring season, your closet may not only be the only area of the home that needs a refresh! Now is an especially good time to step back and take a look at what’s hiding in your bathroom drawers as well. After doing a huge drop off at a donation center (15 bags!) the apartment is looking as spiffy and as minimal as ever, just in time for spring!
If you’ve been following along on the blog for some time, you’ll know that I take pride in spotlighting local makers in hopes of sharing their products and their passions. You may also know that less is more when it comes to skincare, and I’m delighted to highlight Fable Soap Co. on Sunshine Daydream today to further support this lifestyle.
When I first teamed up with soap maker, Jeriel, I had a feeling her products were going to be just what my skin needed to prep for the new season. Salted Grapefruit bath soap? Salted Grapefruit candle? Salted Grapefruit soap? Can you say the most relaxing at home spa day ever?! I have greatly accepted spring’s early arrival while using these products and I will say my skin is feeling (and looking) as healthy as ever! Made with all natural ingredients, Fable Soap Co. has certainly made it on my list of favorite natural skincare companies.
The green beauty movement is all the rage right now and so you might be wondering “why is it so important to pay attention to ingredients in beauty and skincare products?” I’ve done my fair share of research and let me tell you, it can be quite terrifying to discover that products you’ve been using may be linked to cancer and infertility issues, among other things.
When I started turning around soap and shampoo bottles in the stores about two years ago to read over the ingredients,I knew I wanted to make a change. Scary ingredients and unpronounceable synthetic chemicals have no reason to be in our lives and I’m so grateful that more and more light is being shined on this topic. Since I’ve made the switch to all natural skincare and beauty (almost!), I have never felt better. Though it can be challenging to make the switch once you get in the habit of reading ingredients in products, your lifestyle will change for the better! If this is something you’re striving to do, you’re already on the road to a healthier life.
One reason why I’m swooning over Fable Soap Co. is Jeriel’s ability to create luxury products (helllllo 100% soy candles) with minimal ingredients. In addition to the line of Salted Grapefruit products, I’m in love with the Coffee and Cardamom Soap as well! The coffee act as a natural exfoliate and as you can imagine– it smells delicious! If you’re interested in more from Fable Soap Co., be sure to hop on over to the Etsy shop and browse gift sets, scents and other products handmade by Jeriel herself.
