The #1 Way To Stay Organized While Planning A Wedding

With our venue search in full swing and wedding guest lists starting to come in, there is one thing that has been the most helpful tool through out the process so far. Being someone who is self motivated, I understand the importance of organization to be sure messages are responded to in a timely manner to ensure a certain level of professionalism. This type of organization helps me stay on top of managing my blog, my social life, my health, my full-time job and life in general! I’ve learned that without being on top of it, things fall through the cracks and opportunities can easily be lost so I’m sharing my #1 tip that has helped a ton thus far!

By compartmentalizing all these different sections of my life into separate spaces, I can take down any task quicker than I would be able to if action items were all over the place. So what’s this little secret to help manage wedding planing, you might be wondering…

 · A WEDDING SPECIFIC EMAIL ADDRESS & ACCOUNT ·

I cannot tell you how helpful this has been so far and I know that it will only become more useful the date gets closer. When creating our email, we chose to use Gmail so we could take advantage of the entire Google Platform such as Google Sheets and Google Calendar plus its free! Once your email account is created, be sure to share the login credentials with your fiancé so the information is readily available to the two of you. Choose a meaningful password that will get you excited to log into your wedding email! Besides the email organization aspect, using this platform also allows you to…

  • Create and share an editable guest list using Google Sheets to both sets of parents who can hopefully help add in address for Save The Dates, Invites, and Thank You Notes
  • Once you receive wedding brochures from vendors via email, instantly save them into your Google Drive to avoid searching your inbox for that one pricing list you just can’t find
  • Use Google Calendar to schedule venue tours, vendor visits, mailing dates and everything else you will need to keep track of all in one shared calendar

By having a wedding specific email, you also get the bonus of avoiding targeting mass emails that will fill up your personal email in a second! As an additional reminder, there are a few aspects that you won’t want to use this wedding email account for. This would include anything associated with the dress (bridal store follow ups, dress pictures, ect) and bachelorette party activities! Keep those ones to your own personal email to make sure nothing gets spoiled!
