Beauty. A word we hear day in and day out. It starts with the moment we wake up and begin our daily routines. Applying favorite creams, adding a touch of blush to create rosy cheeks and coating eye lashes with dark mascara are apart of many women’s morning routines, but how often do we nourish our body’s and skin from the inside out as well? On my journey to establishing a skincare and beauty routine that’s filled with good for you ingredients found in nature, I pay attention to not only what products I use, but also how proper diet can positively affect the skin’s appearance and overall well being including attitude, productivity and energy!
I was recently introduced to The Organic Project, a company I just adore which sells different brands of natural and/or organic skincare and beauty products. Based out of Australia, The Organic Project recently launched their US shop to further ensure easy access to quality products that are better for both you and the environment. Double win!
We always hear about the importance and benefit of staying hydrated, don’t we? Cucumber water, mint water, lemon water, and so on are an enjoyable way to make drinking all that water a little more interesting! These past few weeks, I haven’t been able get enough of my new Fressko LIFT Flask which has a removable filter to add any fruit or loose tea to regular water which makes “brewing as you go” effortless. In addition to hot beverages, another way to use the flask is to add your favorite fruit with chilled water. I find this combination can work wonders for long days in office environment or running around doing errands and what not! As stylish as it is useful, the flask is made out of glass, not plastic which is a deciding factor for me when purchasing a product. Plus, the modern and minimalist design doesn’t hurt either!
Replacing chemical laden conventional skincare products for newer, cleaner products is just the start to gaining more energy and well being! Eating right and including lots and lots of fruits (and veggies!) can do wonders on your skin and overall mood. Avocados, lemon water, oranges and all berries are especially great in the spring time in addition to dark greens and it can be fun too! If you don’t believe me or are seeking inspiration, check out this hashtag for visual proof: #EatTheRainbow.
While it is helpful to help out your body each and every way you can by eating right, staying active and drinking lots of water, there is of course the conventional beauty industry which has a strong hold over most of us. Day in and day out we are faced with the standard commercials and advertisements which create a never ending cycle of unobtainable beauty. If you can get around those ads and focus your energy on a more positive and healthy lifestyle, you will find that there are some amazing products out there which are both good for your skin and well being! The Organic Project sells products from Australian based company, Simple As That which from first glance make my minimalist aesthetic heart flutter. I was lucky enough to incorporate their cleanser and toner in my routine these past few weeks as we transition into a new season when your skincare needs often get altered by the weather change. The short list of ingredients in the toner and cleanser including orange blossom water, tree tee oil and French lavender oil are perfect elements to start the spring day off right. Organic, fair trade, and vegan, Simple As That‘s proves that less really is more.
Now it’s your turn! Do you have any routines to treat your body and skin well? How do you stay hydrated throughout the day?
This post was made possible in partnership with The Organic Project. As always, all opinions expressed our my own. Thank you for supporting the companies that make the blog a little more dreamy!
