Sun, sand and sea are three essential ingredients to a day well spent in my opinion, so when all three came together on a picture perfect Saturday, you can bet my soul and heart was full. There are many stops along California’s Central Coast and the seaside town on Monterey is no exception! Tourist foot traffic is often heavy here, but that’s no reason to miss the turquoise waters and classic California vibe in Monterey.
Restaurants, shops and activities fill the main street of Cannery Row. This historic waterfront district is an ideal location to park your car and wander the charming streets, pop into gift shops and sip wine in the several tasting rooms. Things move slow here, so it’s best to embrace your surroundings and take the time to really enjoy yourself here.
While the many cafes and restaurants may tease you with their next door proximity to the shopping, you’ll want to head to a eatery with ocean view dining. When we visited, the first thing we wanted to do was enjoy lunch after a few hours in the car, so we made our way to The Fish Hopper. The food here was awesome and the unparalleled views of the ocean crashing along the rocks made it just so perfect.
After lunch, we headed to the Cannery Row Antique Mall to scope out all it has to offer. This awesome warehouse filled with treasures from times past was a fun and interesting place to visit while in Monterey! If you’re a blogger, stylist or collector of vintage items- you will especially appreciate the variety of items here which could be used for photography props, decor, ect. Once we finished browsing treasures, we walked back down to Cannery Row to enjoy the perfect 75 degrees!
