How To Host One Final Summer Hurrah

Though the summer months are slowly coming to an end, there is still an opportunity to throw one last final summer hurrah to celebrate the memories made, trips taken, and golden glow you may have gotten on your skin this season. To me, nothing screams summer more than pineapples- and when I say pineapples I really mean pineapple margaritas so yeah, this just got fun! Go ahead and pour up a cocktail and dive in as I share a few entertaining tips to host and toast one heck of an end of summer celebration!

First things first- let’s talk decor and items that are sure to kick up any type of fiesta! Bright colors are bold and often translate to a good time, so lets start there, shall we? Recently I teamed up the darling and creative Alyssa behind Eighteen Feathers to showcase her passion, all the while encouraging myself to host an end of summer celebration!

Based in Florida, Eighteen Feather’s began as a way for Alyssa to turn her creative hobby of creating wonderful gifts into a career to spread the love all the while honoring her Grandmother, who inspired Alyssa to start Eighteen Feathers. The luxe gifts have a wide variety of themes including the Man Box, Housewarming Box, Baby Box and more! Making gift giving simple and sweet, Alyssa does a wonderful job at not only picking out select items to pair together but also on presentation and quality of her packaging. Upon delivery, my box was complete with a bouquet of dried lavender tucked beneath a big bow around a sturdy wooden box, making it clear that every detail was taken into consideration when Alyssa ships out her gift boxes. I can’t say enough about how much presentation matters when giving a gift and I was overjoyed to see that Alyssa puts a great deal of thought into this aspect in addition to whats inside the box itself!

A few weeks back, it just so happened that Alyssa surprised me with two gold pineapple shot glasses, four handmade coasters created by artisans in Guatemala, margarita salt straight from the Sea of Cortez (cue the tequila!) and one of the most beautiful airplants I’ve seen to perfectly vibe with my personal aesthetic and home decor taste. Can you tell why I was so inspired to creating a guide to host a final summer hurrah?!

With decor and barware in place, the rest is easy! After seeing the gold pineapple shot glasses in my giftbox, I instantly knew that if I wanted to throw a summer themed hurrah, pineapple margaritas were going to be necessary! After picking up some angled glassware, it was time to slice limes and rim the glasses with the Sea of Cortez salt while prepping for Pineapple Margaritas. Here’s how to make ’em…

Pineapple Margaritas

Pineapple Margaritas

  • 2 cups lime juice (20 limes)
  • 1 1/2 cups of tequila (blanco)
  • 2 cups triple sec
  • 3 cups pineapple juice
  • Limes for garnish

  1. Combine lime juice, tequila, triple sec and pineapple juice in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake for up to one minute and pour into a salt rimmed glass with ice. Garnish with lime. Enjoy!

During summer months, there is so much fresh produce you can take advantage when you decide on what types of food to make! To pair with pineapple margaritas, why not set up a salsa bar? Get creative and serve mango salsa, pineapple salsa, guacamole and others. Heck, why not serve the salsa inside a hollowed out pineapple to get extra creative? A taco bar is a perfect light meal to snack on while your guests sip margaritas and is a relativity affordable and easy meal to prepare ahead of time! Win-win!
