Happy Wedding Wednesday! Today’s post is very near and dear to my heart, as these photographs are the result of working with 3 amazing local vendors to capture this special moment in John and I’s engagement bliss. Being local to the Bay Area, the countryside in Marin country is somewhere I always dreamed of taking photographs in with my love. The tall grass, old fences and barns, and mountains meeting the Pacific Ocean make this land outside of San Francisco truly unique.
I was so happy to discover the lovely Torrey Fox, who met with John and I on a cloudy Sunday evening to capture our engagement photographs perfectly. Upon meeting Torrey, we felt so comfortable with her, despite a little camera shyness that we eventually brushed off. Torrey browsed the area prior to our meet up and lead us down pathways that would’ve been missed if it wasn’t for her extra effort to discover the best locations. Her ability to make clients feel comfortable in front of the camera brings out the best in them and we couldn’t be happier with the results of these images. The crisp details, balanced composition, creative use of the nature and environment around us and overall fun time spent taking this pictures with Torrey makes me recommend her skills time and time again! Thank you again, Torrey!
For this engagement session, I knew how luxurious it would be to have my hair and makeup professionally done. Since I’ve never had my makeup professional done and my hair styled only once last year for my brother’s wedding, I was so excited to team up with San Francisco based stylist, Ariana Rose to help prepare me to be as confident as ever in front of the camera. With the endless options of hairstyles, I shared with Ariana some images that had grabbed my eye while exploring Pinterest and she did a wonderful job creating a whimsical and romantic look that paired so perfectly in the Marin countryside. For all the information on the makeup products Ariana used to help create the look, see below! A huge thank you for Ariana who traveled to our apartment for this session!
The final ingredient I knew that would make these images truly stunning was a bouquet from the talent Ladan of Le Bouquet. Located in the heart of the Marina district here in San Francisco, I was absolutely blown away when it came time to pop into the shop and pick up the arrangement on our way to Marin. Ladan took extra care to ensure that the bouquet was exactly the style that I was looking for and then some. The flower shop has been a staple for the Marina community. With 40 years down and may more to go, supporting local small business like Le Bouquet is essential to keeping the charm in San Francisco. There are numerous ways to obtain some Le Bouquet flowers of your own including delivery, weddings, events, dinner parties, weekly subscriptions and of course, by simply popping into their adorable store right on Union & Fillmore Street. The sweetest thank you to Le Bouquet for the perfect touch to our engagement pictures!
Once you have your engagement pictures, you’ll need to print save the dates! John and I will be using Minted for our wedding suite stationary because I am loving the contemporary designs, free calligraphy inspired addressing and ease of use. If you’re in the market for invitations for other events, be sure to shop their designs here.
