Autumn is very much here and besides the on and off weather patterns, early into the season the air is still warm and everything the light touches is instantly golden. We switch out dresses for skinnies and over the knee boots seamlessly replace strappy sandals worn just weeks prior. Fall in California means endless options until the winter chill arrives, so grab some hot apple cider and get cozy as I share some classic fall styles and my favorite traditions for the season!
This season is all about the bodysuits, flared jeans (in addition to skinny jeans, of course), chokers and the tallest boots you can find. Throw on a thick sweater, pair with dainty jewelry and you’ll be ready for the next adventure! Myself and fellow San Francisco fashion forward bloggers gathered for cheese and wine before heading out to Fort Mason to admire the views of the Golden Gate Bridge and flaunt a favorite outfit. The rain had cleared that day and just as we headed out, the sun peeked through the clouds leaving nothing but pretty blue skies with a glowing light reaching past The Presidio, making it the perfect Sunday afternoon.
5 Must Do’s This Fall
There are certain traditions that we always participate in and the longer the tradition goes, the more important it is to keep it going! These are my top 5 recommendations to celebrate the season!
The warm days are soon to be behind us for a while, so why not host one more picnic? Grad your fuzziest blankets, bring warm tea, create a fall cheese plate and watch the golden rays take over blue skies before the chill of November comes in.
Spiked Apple Cider + Hocus Pocus
By far one of my favorite things to do before (or on) Halloween is to make spiked apple cider (we choose whiskey) and simmer the concoction on the stove for a few minutes. Once the smell of cinnamon fills your home, turn on Hocus Pocus and enjoy some good ‘ol fashion Disney fun!
Head To The Orchards
I know, I know- we hear this one all the time, but it really is a great activity for the whole family or as a romantic day date. A lot of locations have onsite apple juice making and pumpkin patches, too! Click here for 5 of the best apple orchards that offer U-Pick in Northern California.
Visit An Antique Store
While entertaining comes with the season, you don’t need to stress about spending lots of money on decor and tableware. Antique stores and second hand shops often have endless warm, copper tones in a variety of items included vases, candle holders, glassware and more. This is the perfect spot to stock up on fall necessities!
Have A Photoshoot
No, I’m not talking #OOTD shoot, but a stunning shoot with your closest friends or boyfriend/girlfriend. These are images you’ll cherish and the golden glow of fall created the most flattering lighting ever. Don’t be afraid to set up a self timer with a camera remote to have some fun!
One of my favorite go to jewelry stores (which were featured in A Picture Perfect Galentine’s Day Party) is Azil Boutique here in San Francisco. The unique pieces are geared towards modern women which perfectly matching my minimalistic yet feminine style. Recently, I haven’t been able to take off my Desert Galcier Necklace, Double Curved Ear Crawlers, and the lovely Bezel Link Ring. Azil Boutique recently started same day delivery in San Francisco, so if you’re in the city, be sure to check out the service or stop into one of three beautiful locations throughout the city.
