Movies and television shows tell us that late twenties and early thirties are for dinner parties. A time when you purchase and pour quality wine into beautiful stemware and spend time creating a menu that will pair well with the flavors and notes of the wine. For some, cooking is a passionate journey channelling smells and flavors which through culinary techniques create an exquisite meal to enjoy with friends and family.
While we got the wine situation covered, John and I have been making an effort to spend more time in the kitchen following new recipes and learning techniques as an joyful way to spend time together while making a great meal. As the curiosity to learn how to truly cook more difficult dinners strengthens, I couldn’t be more happy to share with you an exciting event happening right here in San Francisco that will help do that very thing!
For those located in the Bay Area, Season 7 MasterChef Champion Shaun O’Neale is coming to Macy’s Union Square next Friday, October 20th! This event includes both a cooking demonstration and a delicious three-course dinner where the chance to taste some of Shaun’s creations await! The event is put on by Macy’s Culinary Council, and will begin at 6:00pm in the lower level by the housewares inside the main Macy’s store in Union Square.
A purchased ticket of $25 includes a three-course meal, a signed copy of Chef O’Neale’s cookbook, My Modern American Table, a $15 Macy’s gift card, and the opportunity to meet Chef O’Neale! Attending a cooking demonstration will not only provide you with the techniques needed to host a dinner party yourself, but you also get to eat along the way and meet Chef O’Neale himself! Seats are limited for this event, so be sure to RSVP here if you want to learn from the very best and start your weekend off well and inspired.
What is your favorite genre of food to cook? Do you prefer baking sweets over creating a hearty meal?
