Dirt paths, gooey s’mores, sleeping under the stars, a crackling fire and all that goes along with camping is a great cure for the summer urge to get outside and enjoy the weather before the summer season slips away. Trading bustling city streets for waterfall hikes and falling asleep to the sounds of a river underneath the stars is a trip I always like to take advantage of!
For all the woman similar to me who love a good camping trip but don’t want to compromise comfort, I’ve put together a modern camping guide which includes a comprehensive packing checklist (glamping items and all), delicious recipes and top camping locations in California. All you need now is to pick a destination and embark on a camping trip of your own! Ready, set go!
One thing I was so thankful that I brought on my last trip was cold brew coffee! Enjoying in your tent with little to no sounds is so peaceful and the convenience of iced coffee (in a mason jar, of course) make it practically effortless. In the evenings, the temperature often drops low, so be sure to check the weather first and determine if sleeping bags are better than layered blankets.
On the last evening of our trip we went on a starlight walk across rickety bridges and onto steep boulders to come across an old telescope which is permanently angled at the North Star. It was one of the best moments of the trip, breathing easy as John and I held hands between the tall trees as the moonlight guided our way. With the summer midway through, there’s no better time than now to make some memories of your own! Looking for a place to camp? Here are the top 10 spots for camping in California.
Do you have any camping tips you’ve learned along the way? What is your favorite part about being in the wilderness? I’d love to hear a memory that you’ve created during a camping trip of your own!
