There really is nothing like cool, crisp days spent exploring the California coastline. Light breezes, ocean sea foam washing ashore and endless miles of bluffs is just a little bit of magic, in my mind. Traveling, road trips and exploring what lies just a little bit further down a dirt path or long stretch of highway has always been something I’ve loved to pursue. While many consider adventure to be long flights to new lands, or feeling like they need to spend frivolous amounts of money on an extravagant trip, recognize that there is adventure to be found everywhere- minus the airplane peanuts and travel pillow!
With the same adventurous spirit as mine but on a more global stage, I want to introduce Clover Artisans based out of Petaluma, a small town right over the Golden Gate Bridge. Keeping a worldly perspective and passion for sharing products from independent artists in so many different countries, owner Samantha Petrie has a way with selecting one of a kind, quality products that no mass made version could even come close to replicate. With goods and accessories for the home, for the adventure and for organization, the modern goods of Clover Artisans is unparalleled.
As I begin to collect only the most meaningful items that I can in my life, I knew owning a few pieces from Samantha’s collection would make the biggest impact on my home and lifestyle overall. While my love for the beautifully dyed indigo throw pillows, statement area rugs and handwoven baskets caught my eye over and over again, I knew adding the neutral hued soft cotton Turkish towel and perfectly size and amazingly crafted handmade throw would allow me to bring Clover Artisans with me on each adventure, park day and road trip I embark on.
I have found the Turkish towels is the ultimate sitting blanket for mornings spent on the beach. While it accompanies me on many adventures, the towel is also useful for decoration purposes, as a towel (hehe) tablescapes- really anything! To help keep warm as the ocean fog set in, the handmade throw is lightweight and perfect to toss in a weekender bag to quickly access during road trips or in the car. The handmade throw of course would look perfect draped over a couch, on the back of a large chair or layered on your bed. With the neutral color, the throw can fit into many different spots no matter what colors already exist in your home.
It doesn’t end with just the stunning craftsmanship and chic styles of the items, either. Clover Artisans shares a look into many different cultures and makes it easier to connect and learn about an artist through each hand selected product that Samantha chooses. Fair market access is suddenly accessible through purchasing the products, and the opportunity to support others on the opposite side of the world is presented seamlessly. So what was the starting point to begin Clover Artisans, you may wonder? Samantha’s love for travel (long before she may have realized it) began when she got her first passport before she could even crawl thanks to parents that worked at PamAm. The products she adds to her shop represents the love she has for adventure herself, and true appreciation for many different cultures. So, here’s to the art of exploring our surroundings, to truly making a commitment to get to know other cultures by browsing and purchasing an item from the collection of products hand chosen by Samantha and to never stop going on endless adventures which breed curiosity. For those that crave adventure and seek it consistently throughout life, I highly suggest the combination of the turkish towel and the hand woven blankets to keep warm then the coastal fog rolls in.
A huge thank you to the lovely Samantha for collaborating with me to feature a small sample of what Clover Artisans stands for.
